EBA DMS Software Package

EBA contains several installation packages – modules. Some of these modules are installed on the server, some on workstations, some on both types of computers.

The EBA DMS client is the user part of the program – a graphical interface that is installed on the server and on workstations, as it is required by everyone who works with e-documents. It is important that the same client version is used on all computers.

EBA Application Services are a server part of a program that handles the automation of certain tasks, such as running send / receive function, periodically importing and exporting data in the form of swap files that can be used with backend systems, and also takes care of notifications.

Installed only on server. The installation package also includes two applications for setting-up and monitoring services, EBA Services Control Center and EBA Services Monitor.

EBA Printer is a software – a virtual printer that is visible on your computer like any other printer. The EBA printer does not require the document to be printed and then scanned to transfer into the EBA DMS system.

The EBA printer directs the printed document directly to the EBA DMS, where an e-document is created, which is treated and processed like any other document.

EBA software is installed using the standard Windows installation wizard. The installer is Nullsoft and the file is in .exe format. The Setup Wizard takes care of everything – sets a suitable desktop shortcut, registers a COM interface through which other programs can communicate with EBA, and installs all the necessary files in the installation folder. Installation must be performed as a Windows administrator.

The installer also accepts arguments – parameters. To view the list of supported parameters and their descriptions, launch the installation file from the console (command prompt) using the / h parameter.

These arguments make it possible to prepare installation scripts for ease of installation. You still need to run the installation as a Windows administrator.

You can manually update EBA DMS versions or use the automatic update tool via the EBA DMS client. The update is done in the same way as the installation. The installer checks itself which files are newer and need updating.
