Main window

The screen mask of the main program window depends on the user’s roles and authorizations. Based on these, the user is shown certain menu bars, toolbars, modules, sections, buttons, folders, etc. In this step, we will review the main window of a user who has administrator privileges in the system.

Each section is described in detail in this page while Menu bar and Tool bar have seperate articles with detailed description.

1. Title bar

It is the top line of the EBA program window. It shows the name of the program, the name of the company to which the user is logged in and the name of the currently logged in user (in square quotes) and the login method – internal or via windows authentication.

The document window displays the name of the user who currently has the document instead of the currently logged in user. If the document is in the office with several users at the same time, all users are listed in the title bar of the window.

An EBA admnistrator can change title bar content in menu Administration>General Settings>Other>Window titles.

3. Tool bar

The toolbar contains buttons that are a shortcut to certain, more frequently used functions in the program. They are accessible to users depending on the permissions and the module in which the user is located. If the button action refers to a document, the document must be selected. On some toolbars, button sets can be turned on or off by right-clicking on any button.

4. Company list

If you have Mult-company setup, you can filter the documents by selecting a company. If you select “All Comapnies” you see documents for all companies.

5. Functions bar

The function bar is used to switch between views (office, search, classification, and supervison) on documents. Sections are available to users according to their permissions and roles in the system.

Classification tab

The basic classification for documents in the EBA DMS consists of the direction and type of document. Direction means whether the document is received by the company (incoming) or issued by the company (outgoing) or is of an internal nature (internal) – the company creates internal documents and uses them only for its own needs. The type of document is, for example: invoice, order form, contract, travel order, …
In EBA DMS, in addition to the basic classification, it is possible to use your own, arbitrary classification plans, and documents can be classified into several different classifications.

The “Classification” section is displayed only when there is a self-created classification in the system.

Supervision tab

Supervision is a special right tied to the workplace. Supervision allows the user to see all documents of the company for which he has the right “supervision” depending on the type and direction.

Drop-down lists:

Another function in Functions bar are two drop-down bars one at the top of the Functions bar and one at the bottom.

Top bar is for administrators only. An administrator can switch between user’s offices and can see which documents users currently have in their offices.

Bottom bar has following functionalities – a user can switch certain views to filter documents to view:

Office – user sees only those documents who are in his office at the moment
All live with access: users sees only those documents who are live and has access to them regardless where those documents are
Show bookmarks: users sees only those documents he has previously bookmarked
Outbox: user sees all documents with status “Outbox”

6. Status bar

The status bar is located at the bottom of the program window.

The status bar displays various pop-up notifications, status, action descriptions, number of selected and displayed documents, exact time and date, activation of function keys: CAPS lock, NUM lock and SCRL lock.

It also displays unread notifications that are accessed by clicking on the blue circled icon.

Green or red lights shows if EBA DMS client has connection to EBA Application Services – messenger and sql queue. If there is no connection a red light is lit. Hover a light and tooltip will show detailed information.

When green light is lit a connection was successfully made.

If there is an error while trying to write into the database, a yellow triangle pops-up. See detailed information of an error or a warning by clicking on it.

7. Modules

EBA DMS uses two modules to provide certain functions:
